The Voices of Keenesburg project is presented by the Keenesburg Historic Preservation Commission, a volunteer group dedicated to safeguarding our town’s stories, photos, and memories. We work to make sure that everyday experiences, family histories, and community milestones are not lost, but cared for and shared with future generations.
Through this website, we bring together recordings, photographs, and recollections from people who know Keenesburg best — the residents who have called this place home.
The Keenesburg Historic Preservation Commission is a community-based group supported by the Town of Keenesburg. Our members include long-time residents, local history enthusiasts, and volunteers who care deeply about remembering where we’ve come from.
Some of us grew up on these streets; others arrived later and fell in love with the town’s character and stories. Together, we listen, document, and share the memories that give Keenesburg its heart.

The Keenesburg Historic Preservation Commission works closely with the Town of Keenesburg, drawing on staff support and community resources to keep this project going. We also collaborate with local schools, libraries, churches, and clubs to help students, families, and neighbors explore our shared past.
Voices of Keenesburg is made possible by the generosity of residents who open their photo albums, share recordings, and trust us with treasured memories. We are grateful as well for in-kind help — from scanning photos to hosting events — offered by community partners.
If you have a story to share, a question about local history, or a family collection you would like to talk about, we would be glad to hear from you.
