Voices of Keenesburg is built from the memories, photos, and voices of people who know this town best. Whether you have lived here a lifetime, just arrived, or your family has roots in Keenesburg, there is a place for you in this project.
On this page you will find simple ways to get involved: sharing a story, contributing photos or documents, volunteering your time, suggesting someone we should talk to, or staying connected for future projects. Every contribution, large or small, helps keep Keenesburg’s history alive for the next generation.

Your memories help bring Keenesburg’s history to life. You can share:
- Personal stories about growing up, working, or raising a family here
- Family stories passed down about earlier days in town or on nearby farms
- Memories of local businesses, school days, church events, fairs, and everyday life
Old photos, letters, programs, postcards, and other paper items are powerful windows into the past. We can scan or photograph your items so they can be shared in the Photo & Audio Archive, while you keep the originals if you wish.
We will talk with you about how your items may be used and will only share them with your permission. If you choose to donate items, they may become part of the Keenesburg Historic Preservation Commission’s local history collection so they are preserved for years to come.

If you enjoy listening, organizing, or working with technology, there is a place for you on our volunteer team. Current needs include:
- Helping record or take notes during oral history interviews
- Transcribing recorded interviews into written form
- Scanning and labeling photos or documents
- Helping at community events or story-gathering days
Do you know someone whose story should be recorded — a long-time resident, a teacher, a business owner, a farmer, or a neighbor with special memories? Is there a place, event, or tradition in Keenesburg that you think we should document?
Share their name, how they are connected to Keenesburg, and why you think their story matters. We will follow up as we are able and do our best to include a wide range of voices and experiences in this project.
